Artist Statement

Driven by a fascination with the human body, my work focuses on investigating ideals of beauty and issues surrounding sexual objectification, referencing classical art as well as contemporary junk culture. Through the use of grotesque imagery I aim to bring up questions about the concept of normality and that which may be considered ugly. I'm interested in further combining different extremes and exposing a strange harmony that can be found in the absurd, where in which difficulties in defining identities are brought to light.
